Rock it, Jerry!
Here's the thing. I used to like Pachabel's Canon in D. The first time I heard was from McD's ad (or was it KFC?), it's nostalgic and oh-so-sweet. But then ten years later, I hated it. I was sick of it. I didn't want to listen to it. Shit, the choral was very very VERY overused and commercialised. You can hear it everywhere from movies to ringtones. It's being played during weddings and funerals, for heavens sake. Blueh~
I've known there's a rock version and I ignored it until today. Yes, today. I stumbled across a link and what the hey, I clickety-clicked it. Amazing tune. Truly amazing.
There's a little arguement about who started the rock version. Some claimed it was Yngwie Johann Malmsteen while the rest rooted for JerryC. I pretty much don't care. Im just glad someone did it anyway.
Now. JerryC (http://jerryc.tw) did all his podcasts (or videocasts? I can't keep up with the lingos, yo!) in his room and he's done a concert or two in Taiwan. Great artist, he is. He even did a song about the university he's attending (has he graduated???).
Here's a link to Canon Rock covers. Enjoy~
Oh I like his Neil Zaza's I'm Alright version, too. Hope he makes it big.
Edit:: Just wanna add that his C stands for 'Chang', his surname. Another Chang, yo! *Insert shannaro Inner Sakura image* and he's doing recording now! Ganbatte!
